Kodo
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
Short version: Kodo does not collect your personal data. The QR codes you create and scan stay on your device.
Who we are
Kodo is a QR code generator and scanner for iPhone. This policy explains how the app handles your information. In this document, "we" and "the app" refer to Kodo.
Information we collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit personal information. Kodo has no accounts, no sign in, and no server that receives your data. The QR codes you create, edit, and scan are saved only in the app's local storage on your device.
Camera
When you use the scanner, the camera is used only to detect QR codes and barcodes. Frames are processed on your device in real time and are not recorded, saved, or sent anywhere. You can deny or revoke camera access at any time in the iOS Settings app; the rest of Kodo keeps working.
Photos
Kodo asks for photo access for two reasons: to save a generated QR image to your library, and to let you pick an image as a logo for a code. The app only touches the specific photos you choose or save, and only after you grant permission.
Where your data lives
Everything Kodo creates is stored locally on your device. It is included in your device and iCloud backups under your own Apple account settings, which we do not control or access. Deleting the app removes its local data.
Analytics, tracking, and ads
Kodo does not use third party analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share personal data, because we do not have it.
Children
Kodo is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices change, we will update this page and revise the date above. Continued use of Kodo after an update means you accept the revised policy.
